There are many ways in which you can contribute to our vision. Below are the different roles we have to offer.
Volunteer Advocate
To become an advocate, you do not need any special qualifications, experience or prior involvement, just the willingness to contribute your time and self to the life of a community member with an intellectual disability. You will need to be prepared to take action and speak up on behalf of your participant. If you believe that we are all worthwhile human beings that have the right to be included and treated with respect, then you have the potential to be a much needed and valuable citizen advocate and friend. Our advocates are provided with on-going support.
Board Member
In this role, you would be a much valued member on our volunteer board which meets monthly to discuss the operations of the program and oversee the employed staff. Board members are a vital component in making NECA succeed in being able to continue with the work that greatly impacts on the lives of our protégés.
